Punjab Information Minister Azma Bokhari has addressed concerns regarding the paint used on Lahore’s bike lanes, saying that a local company applied it on a trial basis with a one-year guarantee.
She said the project did not involve government funding or any payments to the company, as the firm is responsible for reapplying the paint if needed.
Responding to Barrister Saif’s remarks, Bokhari pointed out that Peshawar’s Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system has faced frequent breakdowns and accidents over the past five years.
She highlighted that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government still owes Rs. 60 billion for the Peshawar Metro project, which remains under legal proceedings in an international court.
She criticized Barrister Saif for repeatedly targeting Punjab while failing to showcase any significant achievements of his government.
According to her, people in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa still struggle with inadequate transport infrastructure, often crossing rivers using makeshift rafts.
Meanwhile, Punjab continues to expand its public transport system, with tram services and the underground Metro Green Line project currently in progress.
