Sindh Introduces New Safety Rules for School Transport

Sindh Education Minister Syed Sardar Ali Shah has directed all schools to enforce strict road safety measures for student transportation.

He stressed that parents and private school administrations must take responsibility for ensuring the safety of children traveling to and from school. The minister urged them to only use transport services that meet the road safety guidelines set by the Sindh Department of Transport.

School transporters must obtain or renew fitness certificates featuring QR codes from the Sindh Transport Department to improve safety standards. Shah emphasized that parents and school administrations should verify that drivers hold valid licenses and that vehicles meet safety requirements.

Addressing concerns over overcrowding in school vans, he strictly prohibited carrying students beyond the vehicle’s seating capacity. Schools were also instructed to warn transporters failing to meet safety standards.

The minister advised students to be cautious while boarding and exiting vehicles and to follow safe roadside practices. These measures aim to prevent accidents and make commuting safer for students.
