Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) employees are facing significant challenges as the airline’s staff ticketing portal, known as the “Hit-It” system, has been offline for the past 10 days. The disruption has been particularly troublesome for employees planning to travel to Umrah, leaving them unable to book tickets through the portal.
According to a PIA spokesperson, the system is currently undergoing an upgrade to improve functionality. Speaking to ProPakistani, the spokesperson assured that the “Hit-It” portal is expected to be restored “in a day or so,” though no exact timeline was provided.
Employees typically receive annual domestic and international travel privileges based on their employment grade. However, the prolonged outage has caused frustration among staff who rely on the system for their travel needs.
In the interim, PIA has launched an alternative booking solution through the Crew Resource Control (CRC) system to accommodate employees. Despite this measure, many staff members have reported that the CRC system is less efficient, resulting in additional delays and inconveniences.
While PIA management works to complete the upgrade, employees are urging the airline to expedite the process to minimize further disruption. The ongoing issue has underscored the importance of reliable digital infrastructure for essential services such as employee travel bookings.
