The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast rain, wind, and thunderstorms, along with snowfall in hilly areas, across various regions of the country from March 2 to 4, as a westerly weather system is expected to enter the western parts on March 2.
Balochistan (March 2-3): Rain, wind, and thunderstorms with snowfall over hills are expected in Quetta, Ziarat, Chaman, Mastung, Pishin, Qilla Abdullah, Qilla Saifullah, Chagai, Noushki, Kharan, Kalat, Barkhan, Khuzdar, Harnai, Zhob, and Sherani.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (March 2 night – March 4 afternoon): Moderate to heavy rain and thunderstorms with snowfall over hills are anticipated in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Shangla, Kohistan, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Battagram, Haripur, Buner, Bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber, Orakzai, Kurram, Waziristan, Peshawar, Charsadda, Mardan, Nowshera, Swabi, Karak, Hangu, and Kohat.
Punjab & Islamabad (March 2 night – March 3): Rain and thunderstorms are expected in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Attock, Jhelum, Chakwal, Gujranwala, Sargodha, Mianwali, Khushab, Gujrat, Hafizabad, Sheikhupura, Faisalabad, Lahore, Mandi Bahauddin, Sialkot, Narowal, Jhang, and Toba Tek Singh. Light rain may also occur in Bhakkar, Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan, Layyah, Rajanpur, Bahawalpur, Sahiwal, Khanewal, Pakpattan, and Okara.
Gilgit-Baltistan & Kashmir (March 2 night – March 4 afternoon): Rain, wind, and snowfall are expected in Diamer, Astore, Ghizer, Skardu, Hunza, Gilgit, Ghanche, Shigar, Neelum Valley, Muzaffarabad, Poonch, Hattian, Bagh, Haveli, Sudhanoti, Kotli, Bhimber, and Mirpur.
Sindh (March 2 night – March 3): Sukkur and Larkana may experience light rain and thunderstorms.
The PMD has advised tourists and travelers to remain cautious, while farmers should plan agricultural activities accordingly. Authorities have been urged to stay on high alert and take precautionary measures, especially in hilly areas, to prevent any untoward incidents.
