Punjab Govt Announces Another Laptop Scheme

The Punjab government has introduced a new laptop scheme for students, especially those pursuing higher education, marking a significant development.

As part of this initiative, 110,000 13th-generation Core-i7 laptops will be provided to eligible beneficiaries. The scheme targets first—and second-semester BS students in public sector institutions and medical students, who will undergo a merit-based selection process.

The online application portal is currently operational, and within hours of its launch, thousands of students have already signed up. According to the minister, BS students need a minimum of 65% in their intermediate exams to qualify, while medical students require at least 80%.

Hayat also disclosed that over 34,000 students had registered on the portal within the first few hours of its launch.
