Kartarpur Reunites Brothers Separated During 1947 Partition

After nearly eight decades apart, two brothers who were separated during the 1947 Partition finally reunited at the Kartarpur Corridor in Narowal’s Shakargarh district.

One brother, who resides in Sheikhupura, Pakistan, and the other, who lives in Ludhiana, India, managed to reconnect through social media.

This online discovery paved the way for their long-awaited meeting at Kartarpur Sahib, a site that has not only served as a spiritual destination but also a place for cross-border family reunions.

As they met, emotions ran high. Witnesses described a deeply touching scene filled with hugs, tears, and heartfelt conversations. Family members from both countries accompanied them, sharing in the joy of the reunion.

The Kartarpur Corridor, which allows visa-free access for Sikh pilgrims, has increasingly become a meeting point for families separated by history. This reunion once again underscored the deep personal impact of Partition and the hope that such moments bring to those still longing to reconnect.
