CM Maryam Nawaz Orders Removal of Mayo Hospital MS

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz visited Mayo Hospital, where patients and their families complained about the lack of medicines, poor facilities, and mismanagement.

Expressing strong displeasure, she ordered the removal of the hospital’s Medical Superintendent (MS). During the visit, she criticized the administration for failing to provide basic healthcare, saying people come with hope but receive no proper treatment.

Patients reported a shortage of essential medical supplies like syringes and cannulas, while the cardiology ward was found infested with insects.

A young girl’s plea about struggling to find medicines for her sick mother deeply moved the chief minister, prompting her to call an emergency meeting at the hospital. She ordered immediate payment of medicine dues and strict action against those responsible for negligence.

Maryam Nawaz also directed officials to ensure the availability of medicines and demanded a complete renovation plan for the hospital. She personally inspected different wards, met patients, and assured them of better healthcare facilities.

During the visit, she listened to complaints from patients and their attendants, including a woman from Sindh and another from Gujranwala. In response to an urgent request, she ordered immediate action for a kidney transplant for a young patient.
