The International Cricket Council (ICC) has confirmed the match officials for the highly anticipated Champions Trophy 2025 final, scheduled for Sunday, March 9, in Dubai, including the names of the two on-field umpires. The tournament’s final clash will feature India and New Zealand, with the following umpires and officials appointed to oversee the proceedings.
Veteran umpires Paul Reiffel and Richard Illingworth will take charge as the on-field umpires after serving in the semi-final stage as well. Reiffel previously officiated during the second semi-final between South Africa and New Zealand in Lahore, while Illingworth was in the middle for the India-Australia match in Dubai.
Illingworth, a four-time ICC Umpire of the Year, has an extensive record, including standing in the finals of the 2023 ICC ODI World Cup and the 2024 T20 World Cup.
Joel Wilson and Kumar Dharmasena will be the other umpires chosen for the Champions Trophy final. Wilson will serve as the third umpire for the final, with Dharmasena appointed as the fourth umpire. The experienced Ranjan Madugalle, a respected figure in cricket officiating, will be the match referee for the prestigious final.
As New Zealand and India gear up for the high-stakes encounter, the match officials, backed by their vast experience, will play a key role in ensuring the final unfolds smoothly.
