AMD Confirms Launch Date for Its New X3D Gaming CPUs

AMD has officially announced the launch date of its latest gaming-focused processors, the Ryzen 9 9950X3D and Ryzen 9 9900X3D, both set to be available for purchase starting March 12th.

These new CPUs build upon the widely praised Ryzen 7 9800X3D, which many consider one of the best gaming processors on the market. Featuring 16 Zen 5 cores and second-generation 3D V-Cache technology, these chips aim to enhance gaming performance while also catering to productivity tasks like photo editing and CAD work.

The higher-end Ryzen 9 9950X3D comes with 16 cores and 32 threads, boasting a base clock speed of 4.3 GHz and a boost speed of up to 5.7 GHz. It also features 144MB of cache and has a TDP of 170W, making it a powerhouse for both gaming and workstation-level tasks. AMD has priced this flagship model at $699, positioning it against Intel’s Core Ultra 9 285K, a direct competitor in high-performance computing.

For those looking for a slightly more affordable option, the Ryzen 9 9900X3D will launch at $599, making it a competitive alternative to Intel’s $589 Core Ultra 9 285K. With these price points, AMD is pushing aggressively into both gaming and content creation markets, offering a blend of high-speed performance and multi-threaded efficiency.

The announcement comes just a week after AMD introduced its next-generation Radeon GPUs, the Radeon RX 9070 and 9070 XT, signaling a strong push into high-performance computing for both gamers and creators.
