The Karachi administration has introduced a “No Helmet, No Entry” policy on I.I. Chundrigar Road to improve road safety and traffic discipline. The new rule aims to reduce accidents caused by reckless motorcycle riding.
To maintain order, authorities have also installed delineators along the road. Thousands of motorcyclists travel through this busy route daily, often disregarding traffic rules.
While larger vehicles generally follow lane discipline, violations by motorcyclists frequently lead to accidents, especially during rush hours.
The helmet requirement is limited to I.I. Chundrigar Road for now, but officials plan to expand it to other major roads across the city.
Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab stated that the step is necessary to prevent life-threatening accidents. He added that wearing helmets will eventually be made mandatory for motorcyclists on all major roads in Karachi.
