Pakistani Beggars Now Focused on Another Country After Strict Action in Gulf

Malaysia has deported 41 Pakistani beggars, including 26 women, from its capital, Kuala Lumpur, over the past three months.

Following a crackdown on Pakistani beggars in Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain, Qatar, and other Gulf nations, many have now shifted their activities to Malaysia.

An inquiry, numbered 304/25, has been registered against the deportees in the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Anti-Human Trafficking Circle (AHTC) Karachi, and an investigation is currently underway.

According to FIA officials, three verifications and six inquiries have also been recorded in AHTC Lahore, but no formal case has been registered. Authorities noted that the majority of those deported were women.

Of the deported individuals:

  • 16 were from Kashmir,
  • Others belonged to Rahim Yar Khan, Faisalabad, Sadiqabad, Lahore, and surrounding areas.

Their departure airports included:

  • 21 from Allama Iqbal Airport Lahore,
  • 7 from Jinnah International Airport Karachi,
  • 1 from Sialkot,
  • 2 from Benazir Bhutto Airport Islamabad.

Regarding their travel status:

  • 21 traveled on visit visas,
  • 9 on tourist visas,
  • Others entered Malaysia using various visa categories.

Three women—Rukhsana, Azeema Mai, and Hasina Khatun—were offloaded and deported to Muscat, while the rest were caught begging in Malaysia.

All 41 deportees have been blacklisted, and further investigations are ongoing.
