In recognition of their historic victory, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has unveiled a massive cash reward for the Indian contingent that triumphed in the 2025 Champions Trophy. India’s dominant performance throughout the tournament culminated in them becoming the first team in Champions Trophy history to secure three titles, a feat achieved after defeating New Zealand by four wickets in the final on March 9.
To honor the players, coaching staff, and members of the Men’s Selection Committee, the BCCI has announced a whopping INR 58 Crore cash reward—almost equal to 2 billion Pakistani Rupees—on top of the USD 2.24 million prize money the team earned for winning the competition. This recognition not only reflects the team’s outstanding achievements and the hard work that led to this remarkable victory, but also showcases the BCCI’s financial might.
Roger Binny, former India international and current BCCI President, expressed his pride in the team’s performance.
“Winning back-to-back ICC titles is special, and this reward recognizes Team India’s dedication and excellence on the global stage. The cash award is a recognition of the hard work that everyone puts in behind the scenes,” Binny said.
He added, “This was also our second ICC Trophy in 2025, following the ICC U19 Women’s World Cup triumph, and it highlights the strong cricketing ecosystem in place in our country.”
The BCCI’s cash reward is not only a recognition of the team’s achievement in the 2025 Champions Trophy but also a reflection of the growing strength of Indian cricket on the world stage. As the team looks ahead, their remarkable performance sets a new benchmark for future generations, promising even greater success for Indian cricket in the years to come.
