Pakistan will be looking to bounce back in the 3rd T20I vs New Zealand after going 2-0 down in the five-match series. Pakistan was beaten convincingly in both the games as New Zealand asserted their dominance over the Men in Green.
The Green Shirts are expected to make a few changes to their line-up as they try to find out their best playing XI and bounce back in the series. Captain Salman Ali Agha will be expected to lead from the front once again and will be hoping that the other players in the team contribute as Pakistan looks to overcome their woes with both bat and ball.
Pakistan will have to figure out their team composition which will allow them to compete against a depleted but strong Kiwi side.
Opening batter Omair bin Yousuf along with Abbas Afridi and Sufyan Muqeem are likely to come into the side at the expense of Hasan Nawaz, Shaheen Afridi and Mohammad Ali, all of whom failed to impress in the first two matches.
Pakistan’s likely playing XI for the 3rd T20I against New Zealand could look like this:
| No. | Player |
|---|---|
| 1 | Mohammad Haris |
| 2 | Omair bin Yousuf |
| 3 | Salman Ali Agha |
| 4 | Irfan Khan Niazi |
| 5 | Shadab Khan |
| 6 | Khushdil Shah |
| 7 | Abdul Samad |
| 8 | Jahandad Khan |
| 9 | Haris Rauf |
| 10 | Abbas Afridi |
| 11 | Sufyan Muqeem |
With a specific focus on establishing a new identity along with the modern demands of the T20 game, Pakistan will be hoping that the new crop of players can stake their claim and show the team signs of improvement which could bode well for them in their preparations for the upcoming 2026 T20 World Cup.
