In a flurry of activity during the online Pakistan Super League (PSL X) replacement draft today, Peshawar Zalmi and Islamabad United have made significant roster changes ahead of the upcoming tenth edition of the tournament.
Peshawar Zalmi has officially drafted George Linde as a full replacement for Corbin Bosch in the Diamond Category, bolstering their squad with the South African all-rounder known for his versatility and skill.
Meanwhile, Islamabad United has secured Australia’s Alex Carey as a partial replacement for Rassie van der Dussen in the Supplementary category. Carey’s experience and wicketkeeping abilities are expected to add depth to United’s lineup as they prepare for the tournament.
In addition to these moves, Peshawar Zalmi has also reserved a replacement for a Gold category pick in place of Nahid Rana, while Karachi Kings have made a similar reservation for Litton Das, who was selected in the Silver category. These strategic decisions reflect the teams’ commitment to maintaining competitive rosters despite the challenges posed by player unavailability.
The draft also saw Quetta Gladiators and Karachi Kings reserving replacements for New Zealand duo Mark Chapman and Kane Williamson, who were selected in the Platinum and Supplementary categories, respectively. These adjustments are crucial as teams navigate the complexities of player availability in the lead-up to the tournament.
PSL X is set to kick on 11 April in Rawalpindi with the opening game between defending champions Islamabad United against the Lahore Qalandars.
