Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has announced a six-month IT and digital skills training program for rural women.
As part of this initiative, 27,000 rural women will receive scholarships during their online training. Upon completion, they will also be provided with desktop computers and free Wi-Fi devices. The Punjab Skills Development Department will oversee the online training.
Maryam Nawaz stated that the program aims to empower rural women by equipping them with digital skills, enabling them to pursue freelancing, launch tech startups, and manage online businesses from home.
