We Want Chinese Investments Not Aid: Aurangzeb

Finance Minister Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb on Wednesday emphasized Pakistan’s intent to shift from Chinese aid to investment and technical collaboration.

Speaking to CGTN Urdu during the Boao Forum for Asia 2025 in China, he highlighted agriculture, artificial intelligence, and technology as key sectors for future Chinese investment.

He pointed to Pakistan’s infrastructure and energy projects under the Belt and Road Initiative as examples of successful cooperation. Aurangzeb also discussed efforts to revitalize Pakistan’s agriculture sector, citing Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s visit to China last year, where he explored vertical farming and agricultural universities.

As part of these efforts, 1,000 Pakistani students and agricultural experts will soon be sent to China for training and skills transfer. Aurangzeb further praised China’s advancements in green projects and environmental sustainability, expressing Pakistan’s eagerness to learn from these initiatives.
