PAA Bans Photography and Video Recording During Aircraft Maintenance

The Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) has imposed a strict ban on photography and videography during aircraft maintenance operations at Allama Iqbal International Airport, citing security concerns and confidentiality breaches.

In an official notification issued on March 14, 2025, the airport management highlighted that unauthorized individuals have been found capturing photos and videos of aircraft while they are undergoing maintenance. The PAA termed this practice a serious security risk and breach of confidentiality.

To address the issue, the authority has issued new directives, strictly allowing only authorized personnel, such as aircraft engineers and designated safety team members, to take pictures or record videos during maintenance activities.

All other individuals, including airline staff and ground handling agents (GHAs), are strictly prohibited from doing so.

The notification warns that any violation of these instructions will result in severe disciplinary action. Airport authorities have also urged strict compliance with the new protocols to ensure the security and confidentiality of aircraft maintenance operations.

Additionally, a directive has been issued to the concerned airport management officials, including the Chief Operating Officer (COO), Deputy Airport Manager, and Duty Manager Airside, to maintain strict surveillance and take immediate corrective measures against any violations, including imposing monetary penalties.
