Lahore Qalandars have received a much-needed boost ahead of their Pakistan Super League (PSL) opener against Islamabad United, with star opener Fakhar Zaman returning to practice after recovering from his injury.
The explosive left-hander has been sidelined in recent months due to an oblique injury suffered during the first game of the Champions Trophy, but his return to training signals positive news for the two-time winners as they gear up for PSL 10, set to begin on April 11.
In a video circulating on social media, Fakhar was seen being put through his paces by the team’s training staff as the Qalandars began their camp for the upcoming season. He was later seen practicing his shots without any issues, signaling a full recovery from his ailments.

Fakhar Zaman, one of Lahore Qalandars’ most consistent performers over the years, has not been seen on a cricket field since the opening contest of the 2025 Champions Trophy. His treatment plan also kept him out of action during Pakistan’s tour of New Zealand, raising concerns about his availability for the franchise’s PSL X campaign. However, his return to full training suggests he is on track to feature in Lahore’s opening game.
A proven match-winner, Fakhar has been the backbone of Qalandars’ batting lineup, delivering standout performances in previous PSL seasons. He has been the leading run-scorer for the franchise multiple times and played a crucial role in Lahore’s consecutive title wins in 2022 and 2023. His presence at the top of the order not only adds firepower but also provides stability to a batting unit that has seen some changes in personnel ahead of the new season.
Lahore Qalandars, the only franchise to win back-to-back PSL titles, will be looking to add a third championship during PSL X. With Fakhar back in the mix, their chances of a strong start look significantly brighter.
The Qalandars are set to open their PSL 10 campaign against Islamabad United, a team they have often engaged in thrilling encounters with. All eyes will be on Fakhar’s form as he looks to shake off the rust and get back to doing what he does best—tearing apart bowling attacks at the top of the order.
