Police have registered a case against seven individuals after a man was allegedly shot dead following a dispute over a delay in preparing a barbecue for late-arriving wedding guests in Nawan Koh village, Sheikhupura, on Tuesday night.
According to a complaint filed by Syed Sanaur Rehman, a resident of Mohalla Siddiqa Colony, he runs a barbecue business on Sharqpur Road. He stated that Zygham Abbas had hired him to cater barbecue for a wedding event in Nawan Koh.

Rehman said he and his brothers completed the food preparations for the initial guests, but just as they were preparing to leave, additional guests arrived. Zygham reportedly pressured them to prepare more barbecue for the newcomers.
While they began cooking again, some of the suspects allegedly became agitated over the delay in serving food and opened fire. Rehman’s brother, Saleem Nasir, was struck by a bullet and died on the spot. Zygham and others fled the scene after also firing shots into the air.
The Bhikhi police have registered a case under sections 302, 148, and 149 of the Pakistan Penal Code against Zygham Abbas, Khurram Abbas, Faisal Abbas, and four unidentified individuals.
The victim’s body has been shifted to a government hospital for postmortem examination as investigations continue.
