Islamabad Schools to Get New Story-Based Textbooks

The Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) has introduced a new set of textbooks for grades 1 to 5, set to be implemented in Islamabad’s schools from the academic year 2025.

The updated textbooks, developed under the supervision of the Federal Secretary for Education, follow Pakistan’s National Curriculum and feature QR codes that allow students and teachers to access the material online in addition to printed copies.

According to officials, the textbooks include story-based learning, hands-on activities, and tools to promote creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration. They are also said to reflect local culture and ensure inclusivity.

To support this digital shift, ICT lab computers and Chromebooks in schools will come pre-loaded with the digital versions of the textbooks. The move is part of an effort to provide equal access to quality learning materials across the board.

FDE has encouraged teachers to make full use of both digital and print resources to improve classroom engagement and enhance the overall learning experience.
