BYD Confirms Shark 6 PHEV Launch in Pakistan

BYD has just confirmed the launch of its highly anticipated pickup truck, the BYD Shark 6, a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) that promises to shake up the local market. The company teased the launch on Instagram with an image of the car in action, captioned simply: COMING SOON.”

The Shark 6 made its first major appearance at the Pakistan Super League (PSL) Opening Ceremony, a move that gave it prime visibility during one of the country’s biggest sporting events.

What We Know So Far

The BYD Shark 6 is a dual-cab pickup that combines rugged capability with hybrid efficiency. While full specs haven’t been released yet for the Pakistan version, international models hint at a vehicle designed for both utility and sustainability. It’s expected to feature:

  • A plug-in hybrid powertrain offers electric-only driving for short trips and petrol power for longer distances.
  • A modern exterior design with a wide stance and aggressive front grille.
  • Tech-forward interior features possibly including a large touchscreen infotainment system, advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), and smart connectivity options.

Pickup trucks have long been popular in Pakistan for their durability and versatility, but the Shark 6 brings something new to the table: electrified performance without compromising on power. If priced competitively, it could disrupt the dominance of traditional diesel-powered pickups in the local market.

What’s Next?

BYD Pakistan hasn’t announced an official launch date or pricing yet, but based on the teaser campaign and PSL spotlight, it’s clear that the Shark 6 is on the horizon. More details are expected to surface soon.

      • otto 3 with cheap looking toy cluster screen, small suv cost almost 1 crore . claim range 410km but in reality not even 300km is possible

  • Welcome electrified junk on wheels….fake 4×4, fake range, fake fuel average, with PHEV battery fully charged. Unproven, poor quality, unreliable 1.5L turbocharged range extender engine. No resale, no after sales, no spares, exploding batteries and disposal will be environmental nightmare

    • Same goes to japanese junk as well . How BYD is unreliable, where it is beating japanese and other European junk in international market??
BYD range extender is a game changer.

  • These types of trucks are on highest budget and only 0.5% elete class in Pakistan can buy this and no cost effective budget for middle class.

  • Byd should launch it’s cheap model in pakistan like seagul so middle class afford it.

  • if byd launch the shark 6 with a price range upto 17.000 million then y should buy it ,,, i will go for GR sport hilux as atleast its tested , relaiable and having resale value in pak
