In a significant step toward expanding its international network, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has announced the re-launch of direct flights from Lahore to Baku, the capital city of Azerbaijan, starting April 20, 2025.
According to PIA officials, the airline will operate two weekly flights, scheduled every Sunday and Wednesday, from Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport.
The introduction of this route is part of PIA’s broader efforts to enhance global connectivity for Pakistani passengers and tap into emerging travel destinations.
To promote the new service, PIA hosted a dedicated launch event in Karachi, attended by travel agents and tour operators.
The gathering served as an opportunity to share operational details about the Baku route, including the flight frequency, in-flight amenities, and the strategic relevance of Azerbaijan as a growing tourist and trade hub.
PIA management emphasised the importance of its travel partners in ensuring the success of this route and expressed confidence in its commercial viability.
The airline aims to strengthen tourism and economic ties between Pakistan and Azerbaijan, with Baku offering an attractive option for Pakistani travellers seeking new international experiences.
The initiative also reflects PIA’s ongoing commitment to revitalising the national carrier by opening new international routes, improving passenger services, and creating sustainable travel solutions.
