Popular communications service Zoom is down as the company is grappling with a widespread service disruption that has impacted at least tens of thousands of users across the United States and other parts of the world, disrupting a platform that has become a critical part of the modern workplace since the pandemic.
As of 3:00 p.m. in New York (12:00 a.m. Pakistan), more than 50,000 users had reported issues—primarily trouble logging in using the app or the website—according to outage tracking site Downdetector.
A company spokesperson acknowledged the disruption, stating that Zoom is “aware that some users are experiencing an outage” and is actively investigating the issue. The company also pledged to share further updates as they become available.
In addition to login problems, Zoom’s system status page and some email services appeared to be facing technical difficulties as well.
