Karachi Adjusts Prices of Naan and Chapati

The Commissioner of Karachi has set new prices for chapati and naan across the city following a drop in flour rates.

According to the official notification:

  • A 100-gram chapati will be sold for Rs. 10
  • A 120-gram naan is priced at Rs. 15
  • A 150-gram naan will cost Rs. 17
  • A 180-gram naan is fixed at Rs. 22

Commissioner Syed Hassan Naqvi has instructed tandoor owners to display the new rate list at visible spots. He warned that charging above the fixed rates is a punishable offense and strict action will be taken against violators.

To ensure enforcement, a control room has been set up for monitoring. Citizens can report complaints if tandoor owners are found overcharging.

It is worth noting that a separate notification was also issued regarding flour prices. The wholesale rate of No. 2.5 flour has been reduced by Rs. 17 per kg, bringing the new price to Rs. 66 per kg.
