A fake price list claiming a massive reduction in the cost of the Kia Sportage L 2.0L FWD variant is circulating on social media, prompting Kia Pakistan to issue a clarification denying any official announcement.
The document, which appears to be styled as an official press release, falsely claims that the price of the Sportage L 2.0L FWD has been slashed by Rs. 1 million, from Rs. 11,825,000 to Rs. 10,825,000, effective April 18, 2025.
It also lists unchanged pricing for the Sportage L 2.0L Alpha at Rs. 9,499,000 and a reduced price for the Sportage L 1.6L GDI HEV, from Rs. 12,850,000 to Rs. 11,900,000.
Kia responded by marking the circulated document with a bold “FAKE” stamp and urged the public not to fall for or spread such misinformation.
The company advised customers to rely solely on updates shared through its official website or authorised dealerships. The source of the fake release remains unknown.
