Cement Prices Show Mixed Trends Across Major Cities in Pakistan

Cement prices have seen varied movements across key cities in Pakistan, according to the latest data released by Arif Habib Limited.

In Islamabad, the price rose slightly to Rs. 1,387 per bag from Rs. 1,381 last week, marking a 0.4 percent weekly increase and a 14.6 percent year-on-year (YoY) rise from Rs. 1,210 in April 2024.

Neighboring Rawalpindi also recorded an increase, with the price climbing to Rs. 1,379, up 2.1 percent from last week and 15 percent higher YoY from Rs. 1,199.

Lahore saw a marginal weekly dip of 1.4 percent, with the price settling at Rs. 1,497. However, the city still experienced a 19.8 percent YoY increase from Rs. 1,250.

Moving to the northwest, Peshawar posted a minimal weekly increase of 0.1 percent, bringing the cement price to Rs. 1,400 per bag. Compared to last year, prices in Peshawar surged 16.6 percent from Rs. 1,201.

Meanwhile, in Karachi, prices remained unchanged week-over-week at Rs. 1,313, but were up 12.1 percent YoY, compared to Rs. 1,171 in April 2024.
