Two siblings died in Nowshera Virkan after eating contaminated dahi bhalay in Moza Chadiala on Friday.
According to the Taltala Police Station, six others are critically ill after eating dahi bhalay from the same spot. The siblings, 19-year-old Meerab and 8-year-old Dawood Irshad, reportedly ate the popular street food from a local vendor.
Shortly after, they exhibited severe symptoms such as vomiting and abdominal pain, and were rushed to a nearby hospital. Despite efforts, Meerab and Dawood passed away due to food poisoning.
Local authorities have launched an investigation, with the Taltala Police Station registering a case against the vendor for negligence. Initial reports suggest poor hygiene and improper food handling as potential causes
