Unverified media reports about the early start of summer vacations in Punjab’s schools and colleges have caused confusion among students and parents.
However, officials have clarified that no formal notification has been issued yet.
While several media outlets have claimed that the Punjab Education Department has announced summer holidays starting from June 1 due to rising temperatures, government officials say this is not accurate.
Officials confirmed that the proposal to begin vacations earlier than scheduled has been sent to Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz for approval, but a final decision is still pending.
The Education Department has stated that the notification will only be issued once Maryam Nawaz formally approves the plan.
Until an official notification is released, schools and colleges will continue to follow their regular academic calendar.
