KP Announces Free Hajj for Laborers

The Workers Welfare Board of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has published its annual employee performance report, announcing that 17 workers from various industries across the province will be sponsored for Hajj this year.

According to the report, the government will cover the Hajj expenses, amounting to Rs. 18.79 million.

The document highlights financial support provided over the past year, including the release of Rs627.5 million to fund higher education for 1,578 workers’ children, Rs131 million distributed as marriage grants for 341 workers, and Rs30 million allocated for death grants in 44 cases.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Religious Affairs has issued a caution to the public regarding counterfeit Hajj permits.

The report further notes that 21,587 students have been enrolled in Working Folks Grammar Schools for the academic year 2024-25. Additionally, Rs191.7 million has been allocated for books, uniforms, and transportation for these students.

The Labour Department’s findings also showcased impressive academic outcomes, with a 94% success rate in matriculation exams at Working Folks Schools — 1,141 out of 1,220 students passed. In Intermediate exams, 445 out of 464 students achieved success.
