Pakistanis Can Now Apply for Fully Funded Chinese Language Scholarship Program

Pakistani students passionate about Chinese language education have a major opportunity.

Chongqing University (CQU) in China is now accepting applications for the 2025 International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship, a fully funded program supported by the Center for Language Education and Cooperation (CLEC).

This scholarship allows students to pursue Bachelor’s, Master’s, or non-degree Chinese language study programs at one of China’s top universities, with all major expenses covered.

What the Scholarship Offers

Selected students will receive:

Full tuition coverage
Free on-campus accommodation
Comprehensive medical insurance
Monthly living allowance:
- RMB 3,000 for Master’s students
- RMB 2,500 for Bachelor’s and non-degree students

Programs Available

Master’s Degree in International Chinese Language Education (3 years; 2 years funded, 3rd year self-funded)
Bachelor’s Degree in Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages (4 years)
Non-Degree Programs:
- One-Year Chinese Language Study
- One-Semester Chinese Language and Literature Study

Who Can Apply?

Pakistani applicants must:

Be non-Chinese citizens aged 16–35 (up to 45 years for in-service teachers).
Be in good physical and mental health.
Maintain good academic performance and behavior.
Show a strong interest in promoting Chinese language education.
Meet the required HSK (Chinese Proficiency Test) and HSKK (Oral Test) scores — minimum HSK Level 3 to Level 5, depending on the program.

Important Application Deadlines

For September 2025 intake: Submit applications by May 11, 2025 (Beijing Time).
For March 2026 intake: Submit applications by October 31, 2025 (Beijing Time).

Applications must be completed on both the International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship website and Chongqing University’s online portal.
