PSX Announces Holiday on May 1

The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) will remain closed on Thursday, May 1, on the occasion of Labour Day.

“All concerned are hereby informed that Pakistan Stock Exchange Limited will remain closed on Thursday, May 1, 2025, being public holiday declared by the Government of Pakistan on the occasion of Labour Day,” the main bourse informed all investors and shareholders on Friday.

So far, the Punjab government has announced a public holiday on Thursday, May 1. All government offices, hospitals, secretariats, district offices, and both public and private educational institutions across Punjab will remain closed.

The federal government had also officially declared May 1, 2025 (Thursday), as a public holiday in connection with Labour Day, according to an earlier notification issued by the Cabinet Division.

In Pakistan, the day is typically commemorated with seminars, processions, and events aimed at raising awareness about labour rights and working conditions.
