Banks Refund Rs. 763 Million to Customers

The Banking Mohtasib Pakistan provided Rs. 762.76 million in financial relief to bank customers during the first half of 2026 after resolving 18,482 complaints against commercial banks.

According to the Banking Mohtasib, the office received 21,392 new complaints between January and June 2026, up 26.5% from 16,915 complaints received during the same period last year.

The total included 4,005 complaints submitted through the Prime Minister’s Portal.

Banking Mohtasib Sirajuddin Aziz urged customers to remain vigilant against banking fraud and avoid sharing personal or financial information with anyone.

He advised customers receiving suspicious calls to immediately contact their bank branch or official helpline. Aziz also warned that banks’ helpline call centres do not make outbound calls, meaning customers should treat calls displaying a bank’s UAN number as potentially fraudulent.
