The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has ordered the installation of siren systems in 29 districts as tensions escalate between Pakistan and India along the Line of Control. The Civil Defense Department issued these instructions to Deputy Commissioners and Civil Defense officers to ensure the safety of the civilian population.
According to the official letter, the main purpose of installing sirens is to provide timely warnings to the public in case of emergencies or attacks. Major cities such as Abbottabad and Mardan have been directed to install four sirens each to cover larger populations.
Civil defense officers have been told to implement this directive immediately and submit progress reports. The letter emphasizes that the warning system is essential for protecting citizens during emergency situations.
This move comes as part of broader efforts to prepare for any potential threats and to ensure that people living in sensitive areas receive quick alerts, allowing them to take necessary precautions. The KP government is taking these steps to enhance public safety and readiness during a period of heightened regional tension.
