Dubai Islamic Bank Pakistan Appoints Muhammad Ali Gulfaraz As CEO

Dubai Islamic Bank Pakistan Limited has announced the appointment of Mr. Muhammad Ali Gulfaraz as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective May 2, 2025.

Gulfaraz brings over 25 years of international and domestic banking experience to the role, with expertise in corporate and investment banking, strategy, risk management, and digital transformation across the UK, Europe, and Pakistan.

He has held senior leadership roles in both local and global financial institutions. Notably, he served as CEO and Managing Director of Bank of Khyber, where he led major digital, governance, and operational reforms.

His international experience includes a decade at Mizuho Corporate Bank in London, where he worked as Managing Director and Head of Corporate & Investment Banking for the UK, Ireland, and Nordic countries. He also served at Bank of America in London for over a decade, ultimately holding the role of Principal in Global Corporate & Investment Banking.

In addition, Gulfaraz has held executive roles at Faují Foundation and worked extensively in areas such as consumer finance, retail services, credit risk analysis, and portfolio management.

He holds a Bachelor’s in Economics and a Master’s in Agricultural and Managerial Economics (with a concentration in Finance) from the University of California, Davis. He is also an alumnus of Cadet College Hasan Abdal and has completed advanced professional training in London, Tokyo, and San Francisco.
