Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) have ramped up their efforts to maintain order and safety on the roads of the federal capital. In a recent campaign, the ITP focused on a range of violations, including non-standard number plates, riding motorcycles without helmets, illegal parking, wrong-way driving, running red lights, not wearing seat belts, and using mobile phones while driving.
During this intensified drive, legal action was taken against thousands of motorists. In just one week, 8,766 motorists were fined for various traffic violations, and 1,269 vehicles and motorcycles were impounded and shifted to different police stations for serious offenses.
An ITP official explained that the campaign targeted all types of vehicles, including public transport, to ensure that traffic rules are followed by everyone. The authorities penalized 1,225 vehicles for non-standard number plates, 782 motorcyclists for not wearing helmets, 2,878 vehicles for illegal parking, 1,039 for wrong-way driving, 1,097 for red light violations, 324 for not wearing seat belts, and 146 for using mobile phones while driving.
Chief Traffic Officer Captain (retd) Syed Zeeshan Haider has urged citizens to strictly follow traffic laws and cooperate with the ITP.

Great initiative and drive. Thank you.
Please take action against bikes with no tail lights, indicators and head lights.
They are a like a ticking time bomb that will either damage themselves or fellow motorists.

Drivers have never been warned. First give them time to adjust and settle as per new rules. Otherwise this is going to be bubble and will burst any time.
That is not how it works, the rules are not new. People were just not following them. Islamabad police has been lenient without any reason. Law should always prevail.
Well done ITP. I, hope Rawalpindi Traffic Police will follow the same. Traffic violations are abnormally rising in Rawalpindi because of non professionalism and careless attitude of Rawalpindi Traffic Police. Rawalpindi Traffic Police must exercise their control specially on GT Road and Bahria Town area.
Finally. Those driving with their phones are a serious hazard. You don’t need to be warned for that.
