Pakistan Railways has announced that five of its high-end saloon coaches—once used exclusively by top government officials—are now available for booking by the general public.
The move was made under the directive of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. The aim is to provide premium travel options to everyday passengers while making better use of existing railway resources.
The luxury saloons were previously reserved for the Prime Minister, federal ministers, and senior railway officials including the Chairman, CEO, and IG of Pakistan Railways. Now, any traveler can book them for intercity routes.
These exclusive coaches will be attached to trains operating on popular routes such as:
- Karachi to Lahore
- Lahore to Karachi
- Islamabad to Lahore
- Lahore to Islamabad
To encourage wider use, Pakistan Railways has set fares at rates it describes as “highly affordable,” making the experience accessible to more passengers.
