Pakistan Successfully Test Fires Abdali Ballistic Missile

Pakistan has successfully conducted a test launch of the Abdali ballistic missile as part of its ongoing efforts to ensure defense preparedness. The short-range, surface-to-surface missile was fired during a scheduled military exercise named Ex INDUS, amid rising tensions with neighboring India.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed the launch, noting that senior military leadership, including the Commander of the Army Strategic Command, were present to oversee the event. The missile, which has a range of 450 kilometers, was tested to assess the operational capabilities of Pakistan’s strategic forces and to validate its advanced navigation and maneuverability systems.

Military officials stated that the purpose of the exercise was to reinforce the country’s strategic readiness and evaluate the missile system’s technical performance. The successful launch reflects Pakistan’s resolve to uphold a robust defense posture and maintain credible deterrence in the region.

In response to the successful test, the President, Prime Minister, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, and the Chiefs of the Armed Services congratulated the scientists, engineers, and personnel involved. They expressed their confidence in the operational strength and technical expertise of the strategic command, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to safeguarding national sovereignty through a credible minimum deterrent.

The Abdali missile system is capable of delivering both conventional and nuclear payloads, enhancing Pakistan’s deterrence capabilities amid ongoing regional tensions. The test takes place at a time of strained relations with India, with continued disputes over the border and security matters.

The launch highlights the fragile security environment in South Asia and Pakistan’s strategic approach to regional defense. Defense officials have urged the global community to recognize the gravity of the situation and emphasized the need for dialogue and peaceful conflict resolution in the region
