Pakistani hacker groups have launched a fresh wave of cyber attacks targeting Indian military-linked websites, including portals associated with schools and veteran welfare.
Indian cybersecurity agencies have detected and are actively countering attempts by groups believed to be operating from Pakistan. These include known outfits like ‘Cyber Group HOAX1337’ and ‘National Cyber Crew’, both accused of repeated breaches and defacement campaigns against Indian domains.
Among the latest victims were the websites of Army Public School Nagrota and Sunjuwan, which were reportedly defaced with provocative messages referencing the Pahalgam terror attack. Additionally, portals used for ex-servicemen’s healthcare services and the Army Institute of Hotel Management were also compromised.
Sources say that another attempted breach targeted a website used for the welfare of Indian Air Force veterans, pointing to a coordinated campaign aimed at undermining public morale and trust.
Officials called the attacks “unethical and provocative,” especially given that many of the targeted platforms serve children, veterans, and civilian beneficiaries. One senior official stated that these efforts represent “a calculated move by Pakistan to test India’s restraint and patience” amid heightened tensions.
They emphasized that these digital assaults form part of a broader strategy, a mix of cross-border terrorism, information warfare, and ceasefire violations aimed at destabilizing India’s security framework.
India’s cybersecurity defense teams are said to be monitoring the situation around the clock and are working to restore affected sites and prevent further breaches. Investigations are ongoing to confirm the origins and infrastructure supporting these cyber units.
