Islamabad’s Cattle Markets Locations Revealed for Eid ul Azha

As Eid ul Azha approaches, Islamabad’s district administration has announced a crackdown on unauthorized animal sale points while confirming the establishment of five official cattle markets across the city.

Deputy Commissioner Irfan Nawaz Memon stated that the designated markets will operate from the 1st to the 13th of Zilhajj in Sangjani, Sector I-15, Bhara Kahu, Lehtrar Road, and along the Islamabad Expressway. Tender notices for these markets have already been issued.

The administration has made it clear that no cattle buying or selling will be allowed before the official opening dates. Any market set up outside these approved locations will be considered illegal.

To enforce the policy, monitoring teams have been formed and have already begun removing unauthorized animal stalls. Officials say illegal setups contribute to sanitation issues and create inconvenience for residents.

Each approved market will offer basic facilities, including clean water, electricity, and structured entry and exit points. Health teams will also be present to check the animals and ensure safe trade.

According to an ICT spokesperson, the measures aim to regulate the animal trade and maintain public hygiene and order during the Eid season.
