Punjab University Cancels All Exams and Practicals

The University of Punjab has officially issued a notice regarding all examinations scheduled for May 9th and 10th, 2025. In light of the escalating situation between Pakistan and India, the university has officially postponed all examinations, including written papers and practicals. The university announced that new dates for these exams will be communicated later, ensuring students have adequate time to prepare once the situation stabilizes.

This decision aligns with a broader directive from the Government of Punjab’s Higher Education Department, which has also ordered the closure of all schools and colleges across the province on the same dates. Despite schools being closed, international exams such as O-Level and A-Level were allowed to continue as scheduled.

The closures and exam postponements come amid escalating tensions following recent unprovoked attacks by India on Pakistan. The Punjab government has taken precautionary measures to safeguard students and educational staff, issuing detailed Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for schools and colleges.

These SOPs emphasize emergency preparedness, including designating safe indoor spaces, preparing emergency kits, and following evacuation protocols if necessary. Students and parents are advised to stay updated through official channels for further announcements regarding the academic calendar.
