US Confirms Pakistan-China Made Fighter Jets Shot Down Indian Jets

A Chinese-made Pakistani fighter jet reportedly shot down at least two Indian military aircraft on Wednesday, according to two U.S. officials who spoke to Reuters on condition of anonymity.

One of the officials said there is high confidence that the J-10 fighter jet, supplied by China and operated by the Pakistan Air Force, was used to launch air-to-air missiles during the encounter with Indian jets. At least two Indian aircraft were brought down, including one French-made Rafale, the official added.

India has not acknowledged the loss of any aircraft. Instead, Indian authorities stated that they had conducted successful strikes against what they described as “terrorist infrastructure” inside Pakistani territory.

In France, Dassault Aviation, the manufacturer of the Rafale jets, and MBDA, which produces the Meteor air-to-air missile system, were not available for comment due to a national holiday.
