Following the temporary hiring of doctors, the Punjab government has now begun recruiting nurses on a locum basis.
The Specialised Healthcare and Medical Education Department has officially released a notification for staff nurse registration under this initiative. Similar to the doctors’ recruitment process, the University of Health Sciences (UHS) will oversee the hiring of nurses.
A dedicated online portal has been launched to manage applications. Eligibility is limited to individuals with a four-year BS in Nursing or a Post-RN qualification. Nurses currently working in government-run facilities are excluded from applying. Those selected will be temporarily assigned to teaching hospitals across the province and receive a daily honorarium for their services.
