Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has instructed the launch of mock emergency response drills by the Civil Defense and Rescue 1122 throughout the province.
In response, the Civil Defense Department has been fully mobilized to initiate these exercises across Punjab. The Chief Minister has tasked local district administrations with overseeing and ensuring the effective implementation of the drills. Rescue 1122 has also commenced mock simulations in various cities to enhance emergency preparedness.
CM Maryam emphasized the need for both Civil Defense and Rescue 1122 teams to remain on high alert and prepared to respond to any potential emergencies. The Civil Defense teams will assist and guide citizens during such situations. These drills have already started in cities including Rawalpindi, Murree, Jhelum, Chakwal, Sargodha, Narowal, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, and Sialkot, with further exercises underway in Sahiwal, Pakpattan, Multan, Khanewal, Muzaffargarh, Layyah, Vehari, and other locations.
The Chief Minister also condemned recent drone attacks in areas including Lahore, commending the Pakistan Army for intercepting and neutralizing Indian drones promptly. She praised the swift and coordinated response of the administration, police, rescue teams, and the Pakistan Air Force.
Additionally, she directed law enforcement and other agencies to maintain a state of constant vigilance in key cities such as Lahore, Gujranwala, Chakwal, Rawalpindi, Attock, and Bahawalpur.
Maryam Nawaz further instructed relevant departments to ensure that civilians and officers injured in drone attacks receive the highest quality of medical care.
