Punjab Releases Billions of Rupees in Internal Security Fund

As tensions continue to rise between Pakistan and India, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has approved the release of an internal security fund totaling Rs. 2 billion to boost emergency preparedness across the province.

The Punjab Home Department confirmed that the funds have been disbursed to deputy commissioners in every district. This allocation is intended to bolster the province’s response capabilities by securing critical supplies such as food rations, fuel, and medicine.

According to officials, the move is part of a broader strategy to maintain law and order and ensure public safety in the face of any unforeseen developments. The Home Department underscored that the money will support law enforcement, civil defense, and emergency rescue operations, all of which have been placed on high alert.

Authorities have also advised residents to limit their movements, avoid non-essential travel, and steer clear of unverified information circulating on social media or other platforms. The appeal is aimed at maintaining public calm and ensuring smooth coordination of emergency services.
