Thousands of Kilos of Dead Chicken Meat Seized in Lahore

The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) seized 5,850 kilograms of meat from unhealthy chickens and issued fines to five food businesses at Tollinton Market on Monday.

The operation, overseen by PFA Director General Muhammad Asim Javaid and LDA DG Tahir Farooq, involved discarding the unfit meat. PFA teams inspected 21 poultry shops, warehouses, and several vehicles transporting chickens.

During the operation, 146.25 maunds of unhygienic meat were disposed of due to diseases like eye infections, lung issues, paralysis, and others affecting the chickens. The PFA’s meat safety task force also imposed significant fines on meat suppliers for violating regulations.

PFA teams continue to monitor milk and meat across all districts of the province through checkpoints.
