The UAE’s Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP) has started accepting applications from eligible individuals currently outside the country for a 180-day multiple-entry visa. This initiative is designed to help applicants complete the required procedures to obtain the UAE’s new long-term Blue Residency Visa.
The Blue Residency is a 10-year residency permit introduced for individuals who have made outstanding contributions to environmental protection, sustainability, and clean or renewable energy, whether within the UAE or internationally. It builds on the UAE’s broader vision of promoting sustainable development and environmental responsibility.

Eligible candidates can apply through the ICP’s website or mobile application by following these four steps:
The process takes around seven minutes to complete online. If all requirements are met, the application is typically processed within one working day.

The launch follows the announcement made during the World Government Summit in February, where the first group of 20 pioneers in sustainability was awarded the Blue Residency. This included innovators and leaders from environmental and climate-focused sectors.
The Blue Residency complements the UAE’s existing Golden and Green Visa programs and reflects the nation’s commitment to global sustainability goals. The ICP’s digital system also allows government entities working in environmental and sustainability sectors to submit electronic applications for Blue Residency approvals.
The initiative highlights the UAE’s continued efforts to position itself as a global hub for environmental innovation and sustainable development.
