Pakistan and India Exchange Prisoners at Wagah Border

In a significant diplomatic gesture following recent escalations, Pakistan and India conducted a prisoner exchange at the Wagah-Attari border on Wednesday.

Pakistan released Indian Border Security Force (BSF) constable Purnam Kumar Shaw, who had been in custody for nearly three weeks after inadvertently crossing into Pakistani territory. In return, India handed over Muhammad Ullah, a member of the Punjab Rangers, to Pakistani authorities.

This exchange comes on the heels of heightened tensions between the two nations. In response to India’s Operation Sindoor, Pakistan responded with “Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos,” leading to a series of retaliatory strikes .

Amid these hostilities, Pakistan demonstrated its defense capabilities by downing multiple Indian fighter jets using Chinese-made J-10C aircraft equipped with PL-15 missiles.
