The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Lahore has launched the distribution of compensation cheques worth Rs. 1.34 billion to victims of the Formanites Housing Society scam, offering long-awaited financial relief to over 1,400 individuals.
The cheque handover ceremony was personally supervised by NAB Lahore Director General Muhammad Ahtram Dar, who congratulated the recipients on recovering their investments, along with additional profits.
The funds are being returned to 1,446 affected individuals, many of whom had been waiting years to recoup their losses. According to officials, hundreds of victims were issued cheques within a single day, with NAB Lahore staff working efficiently to complete the process swiftly.
To ensure maximum convenience, DG Dar announced that the NAB office in Lahore will remain open over the weekend (Saturday and Sunday) to continue distributing cheques without interruption.
He also noted that victims do not need to wait for a formal NAB notice to collect their compensation.
Many recipients at the event expressed appreciation for the bureau’s efforts, crediting NAB’s leadership for delivering justice and securing the return of their hard-earned money.
