Passport Ban Announced for Deported Pakistanis

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has announced a major policy shift aimed at cracking down on illegal immigration and serious crimes, including child abuse and human trafficking.

During a high-level meeting on Wednesday, Naqvi revealed that individuals deported from other countries will now face a five-year restriction on their passports under the Passport Control List (PCL). This move is intended to stop repeated illegal re-entry into Pakistan.

The meeting also discussed a proposal to add sex offenders to the Passport Control List, further tightening border security and safeguarding vulnerable communities.

Naqvi stressed the importance of international cooperation, thanking the UK for its ongoing support in tackling illegal immigration, online child exploitation, and drug trafficking. He also announced the launch of Pakistan’s first-ever Sex Offender Register, calling it a key step in the fight against sexual crimes.

“All available resources will be used to stop online child abuse,” he said, adding that the government is fully committed to fighting serious and organized crime.
