The Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) on Friday gave the green light to nine major road development projects across Punjab, with a total estimated cost of Rs. 13.67 billion.
Chaired by Planning and Development Board Chairman Barrister Nabeel Awan, the meeting focused on upgrading road infrastructure to improve connectivity in key districts.
Among the approved projects is the dualization of a 14.61-kilometer stretch of the Lahore-Jaranwala Road, from Mandi Faizabad to Mangranwala in Nankana Sahib, at a cost of Rs. 1.163 billion.
In Sahiwal, the PDWP approved the rehabilitation of the 26-kilometer Sahiwal-Arifwala Road leading to Harappa Bypass via Malan Shah Chowk, at a cost of Rs. 1.09 billion.
Other notable approvals include:
- Rs. 1.512 billion for the rehabilitation of the 23.75-kilometer road from Farooqabad to Tehsil Safdarabad in Sheikhupura.
- Rs. 1.18 billion for improving 19.5 kilometers of the Safdarabad-Manawala Road, also in Sheikhupura.
- Rs.1.94 billion for the 34-kilometer road from the Chiniot district boundary to Tahli Adda, passing through Sial Mor, Midh Ranjha, and Hilalpur in Sargodha.
- Rs. 1.9 billion for widening and upgrading the 34.4-kilometer Sahiwal to Shahpur Road in Sargodha.
- Rs. 1.22 billion for the restoration of the 14.05-kilometer Sangla Hill–Safdarabad Road in Nankana Sahib.
- Rs. 1.82 billion for rehabilitation of a 59-kilometer route from Tandlianwala (Jallah Chowk) to Kamalia via Zaffar Chowk and Mamukanjan in Faisalabad.
- Rs. 1.86 billion for dualizing a 10.8-kilometer section of road from Taxila to HMC Farooqia in Rawalpindi.
The meeting was also attended by P&D Board Secretary Dr. Asif Tufail, Chief Economist Masood Anwar, board members, and other senior officials.

Ignoring Ignoring Ignoring South Punjab.. There is not a single road for South Punjab.. Dist. Bahawalnagar, Bahawalpur, Rahim Yar Khan, Multan, DG Khan also demand Road infrastructure. Road between Tehsil Fort Abbas to Bahawalpur is very dangerous and risky for life. The patient’s deaths and accidents are increasing day by day on this road. Have a look on here.
Khushab (Quaid Abad) to Ochali road is in under development.
Plz focus on that road Also.
